Chantal’s approach to your Photography

I love weddings full stop. I love to hear all about your day, from what colour your bridesmaids are wearing to where you are going on honeymoon!

This is mainly because I’m a bit nosey but also because the more I know about you as a couple and what your expectations of the day are, the easier it will be for me to create a set of pictures that does you and your day justice.

I love capturing those beautiful moments throughout the day, the groom sweating at the alter, the look on his face as he first lays eyes on the bride….. that first lingering look between the two of you at the alter…..I want my images to tell your story which is why I always start with the bridal prep and don’t finish until the first dance, I like to have the whole story captured in my camera!

I do admit though, that due to my background as a fashion photographer, I do like to create some beautiful and artistic images of the couple on their own and perhaps even the bride on her own, showing her amazing dress off to its full potential, especially after all the hard work and money that has gone into it!

I still keep these natural and relaxed, but if this is not your thing, that’s fine with me, but a little bit of self indulgence never hurt anyone :)

This relaxed style of wedding photography is very popular now as it means the couple can spend more time with their guests and enjoy their day, rather than spending too much precious time having numerous formal photos.

Formal photos have their place at a wedding, but if you have too many it can have an impact on the energy and flow of the day, and cantake much longer than you would expect, as a big part of the process is gently and politely rounding up family members who may not be that willing!

I usually suggest 6-8 formal group shots maximum, this keeps the balance and doesn’t impose on your day too much.

However, I am aware that each couple have their own ideas on what they expect from their big day, and choosing your photographer is a nerve wracking decision so I am happy to have a chat and work together to get you the photography coverage you want

When your pictures are edited and finished they will be available to view online, I aim to have your pictures for you to view online within in a week of  your return from your honeymoon and a CD sent out to you within 3 weeks after that.

If you want to chat further, please drop me a line and arrange a time to come down to the studio, as you can tell…. I can talk about weddings all day long!
